Adidas has unintentionally released a similar to Manchester United’s third kit from 1988-1990. It is currently believed to be only available in Malaysia however a global release is not an unexpected surprise. Credit goes to TheShirtUnion and @ cheeno007 for spotting it. Adidas hasn’t been shy about digging into its archives over the past several years to bring back beloved clothing items of the past. The year before, they brought back Man Utd’s kit for goalkeepers and home kits from 1990 along with numerous other lifestyle items and they’ve repeated the feat.
They’ve recreated United’s blue third kit they used from 1998 until 1990. The shirt is only available on Adidas’ Malaysian website, but it’s expected to be made accessible in Europe and other countries very soon. Take a look below.

It’s an official Manchester United Football Club 88-90 third jersey replica, designed by Adidas.
This Adidas Manchester United 1988-89 third shirt redesign is true of the design that was original. Blue with glossy jacquard stripe pattern the initials MUFC repeating down each stripe. White piping highlights the raglan cut and is matched with the Adidas brand on the sleeves.
The neck collar that is overlapping is adorned with black and red details around the edges. it has Adidas as well as Sharp logos and the club badge is appropriate for the time.
