Borussia Dortmund have unveiled their new home kit for the 2023-2024 season However, it’s not received well by many fans despite being a choice of supporters.
BVB 2023-2024 HOME KIT WAS MEANT TO REPRESENT THE CLUB’S STADIUM
The Dortmund 2023-2024 home kit was created to represent the stadium of the club however, supporters have pointed out its regrettable resemblance to the disastrous ocean liner that went down in 1912. Social media was filled with posts from fans who expressed their anger and displeasure at the design.
The designer behind the jersey, Timo R., wanted the design to show the famous image from Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park from the club’s former Rote Erde stadium. The designer decided to go with the diagonal style to reflect the visual identity of the website and heavily incorporate diagonal elements of design.
The reason for the black-colored bulk of the kit is that it will better blend together with black pants making it less noticeable.
The jersey is expected to wear by players of Dortmund throughout the 2023-2024 season. However, it is yet to be determined if the debate will end or linger on throughout the course of the season.
