Sao Paulo Football Club today declared that they will not extend their five-year agreement with Adidas that is scheduled to close in the month of December in 2023. Although the statement from the club was extremely generous in its praise of Adidas however, the president of the club criticized Adidas extensively in a recent interview. Sao Paulo will switch to wear New Balance uniforms in January 2024. This was announced by the president of New Balance, Julio Casares, on the Roda Viva program on TV Cultura.

Sao Paulo president Casares criticized the German manufacturer of sports equipment and pointed out a number of issues with the partnership. These include problems with distribution of products and lack of exclusivity in designing products as well as a lack of a four-hands-on-deck collaboration with the manufacturer and club.

According to Casares the issues pose a challenge due to the fact that Adidas require more time to work on pieces, and also has several clubs within their portfolio including Cruzeiro, Atletico Mineiro, Internacional and Flamengo and are the sole Brazilian club to receive better treatment.
NEW BALANCE WILL PRIORITIZE TRICOLOR PAULISTA AND PROVIDE EXCLUSIVITY TO THE CLUB
However, New Balance will prioritize Tricolor Paulista and provide exclusivity for the team. The announcement was made first by Mantos do Futebol in May 2021.
Sao Paulo have yet to unveil a final shirt as part of their Adidas partnership. It is a Pink October’s shirt.
