Did UEFA Force Milan to Change Their Font Color for the Champions League?

Milan has played the initial Champions League match this week this week, and if your interested in football kit or follow the team, you’ve definitely noticed an important difference from Serie A.

MILAN 2023-2024 EUROPEAN KIT FONT – FIRST CUSTOM FONT SINCE

INTRODUCTION OF STREAMLINED SERIE A TYPEFACE

Milan is the first Serie A team to use an individual kit font for an UEFA tournament as of Serie A introduced the streamlined font in the year 2020.

The customized AC Milan 2023-2024 kit font is a curly style that adds a distinctive look to the kits. However, the font does not stand out as the sole difference in comparison to it’s Serie A font.

Instead of black, with an black border (as in Serie A), Milan adopted an unicolor font to play the Champions League.

It’s not clear if UEFA prohibited Milan from having a black font on their home kit during the Champions League, but the white numbers and names appear more prominent. For Serie A, Milan still utilizes the black font, despite it’s poor visibility.

Milan’s European kit font is also equipped with ventilation holes to improve airflow.
